What is lampworking? Lampworking comes from the time when beads were made with lamps, which we now call torches.
Here are some pictures of me in my studio at work since everyone always asks how I make my beads and doesn't seem to grasp that the glass is molten. Unfortunately my photographer likes to get my picture in the reflection, thus you can't see much. So the main thing to look at is the hot glowing glass in the left picture (me shaping a bead) and in the right I am melting a glass rod down to make a pendant.
I mainly work in soft glass because hard glass requires a really big torch and darker glasses causing me not to be able to see much. Also you need to have patience for hard glass and I don't seem to have much at this time! I use up all of my patience with my son.
Thanks for visiting my site and looking at my creations :o) !
